Payroll Tax Specialist
Abacus Payroll Inc., our growing affiliate payroll company, is seeking a full-time Payroll Tax Specialist in our Hammonton, NJ office location to start immediately.
Responsibilities include:
- Working alongside the Abacus Payroll team to provide accurate and timely payroll processing to small business clients.
- Submitting weekly, monthly, and quarterly tax payments.
- Assisting with filing quarterly and year-end tax returns.
- Researching and responding to IRS and state agency tax notices in a timely manner.
- Ensuring compliance by researching current Payroll Tax laws.
- Setting up appropriate electronic filing requirements for tax agencies.
Qualifications, Skills, and Prior Experience:
- Must be familiar with federal, state, and local Payroll Taxes, wage laws, and common fiscal procedures.
- Excellent verbal and written business communication skills. This position will represent the company and clients when interacting with tax agencies.
- Strong research and problem resolution skills.
- Demonstrate professionalism, accuracy, ability to prioritize, and be detail-oriented.
- Strong computer literacy skills, particularly with Microsoft Office.
- Maintain client confidentiality and sensitive employee data.
- Ideal candidate should anticipate working more hours during peak Payroll Tax season (end of year and end of each quarter).
- Knowledge of Evolution/Asure payroll software a plus.
This is for a full-time position in our Hammonton, NJ office location.
