Summary
Member of the Canada Payroll team responsible for ensuring accurate processing and recording of company's payroll, participate in daily data entry and maintenance of Payroll. Also responsible for timely and accurate reconciliations and reporting to CRA and various Canadian Provincial agencies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform daily reporting for New Hires, Transfers and Termination
- Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
- Perform routine & exception Payroll Entries/Adjustments
- Format, audit and prepare timesheet timesheets for payroll processing
- Audit payroll prior to transmission
- Calculate and request Off Cycle payments as needed
- Maintain Time Off module - ensure accruals and balances are accurate
- Update employee Time Off balances/Entitlements
- Quarterly Audit Time Off module - ensure accruals and balances are accurate
- Conduct routine Manager & employee Time Off trainings
- Produce ROEs as needed
- Research/resolve employee ROE inquiries received from CRA
- Research/resolve employee pay/policy/tax related inquiries
- Research/resolve timesheet related inquires
- RRSP Reconciliation deliverable to internal business areas after each payroll processing
- Compile Monthly Vacation Liability Report deliverable to internal business (Finance & HR)
- Reconciliation & Reporting as needed (Monthly, Quarterly, Annually) WSIB, WSBC, EHT
- Assist with yearend ADP reconciliation, balancing and reporting requirements for employee tax data
Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of payroll best practices.
- Knowledge of Canada Federal and Provincial regulations.
- Strong PC skills including proficiency in Excel (esp. VLOOKUP and Pivots)
- Working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now, ADP Custom Reporting
- Strong work ethic and team player.
- High degree of professionalism.
- Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material
- Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills.
- Ability to communicate with various levels of management.
- Decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills.
