This position is remote within the Southern California area, as occasional work in our Santa Ana office may be required.

The Payroll Professional is responsible for performing payroll-related duties for multiple clients in a timely, accurate manner, while ensuring adherence to wage and hour laws. Tasks may include:

  • Daily posting of all scheduled payrolls
  • Processing payroll corrections and manual batches including termination checks, bonuses, and commissions
  • Fulfilling payroll report requests and certified payroll reporting
  • Resolving any discrepancies, including communication to clients with necessary action plan
  • Processing all requests for additional wages, deductions, pay changes, PTO, etc. within our HRIS system
  • Time and labor management
  • Responding to client and employee payroll-related inquires in a timely manner
  • Processing civil garnishments, child support orders (non-medical), federal and state tax levies and bankruptcy withholdings as needed
  • Additional projects as assigned by supervisor

Requirements to be successful in this role:

  • High School diploma (required)
  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred, but not required)
  • 1+ year of payroll processing, tax, finance, or accounting experience (preferred, but not required)
  • 1+ year of isolved HRIS experience (preferred, but not required)
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work within strict deadlines
  • Ability to complete projects independently in a remote environment during set work hours with minimal supervision
  • Exceptional communication, customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
  • Team player that embraces Optimum's core values
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

The salary range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00 an hour. In addition, we offer a generous benefits package and a terrific corporate culture. Compensation will be based upon factors such as geographic location, skills, experience and/or education. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.
