What would this role do?

Reporting to the Assistant Payroll manager the Payroll Coordinator is responsible for ensuring certified payroll reports are processed timely, accurately, and in compliance with county, state, and government laws.


Role Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing the day-to-day policies and procedures governing the payroll function.
  • Process bi-weekly and monthly payroll in the timekeeping system.
  • Check and audit timekeeping records; maintain time and attendance records
  • Make sure that company is compliant with federal, state, and local tax regulations
  • Research discrepancies in payroll information and documentation in timekeeping and vendor websites
  • Create and maintain all pay types, deductions, benefits and accruals
  • Maintain employee profiles, process new hire paperwork, tax status changes, and direct deposit enrollment.
  • Generates reports as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Must Haves

  • Highschool diploma/ equivalent required
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience. Relevant work experience is required and that can provide required knowledge, skills, and abilities in managing all aspects of payroll responsibilities.
  • Strong leadership, decision making and communication skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Demonstrates a superior knowledge of all areas of payroll.
  • Demonstrates ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft office products and Payroll systems
  • Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of the job
  • Strong problem-solving skills

Nice to haves

  • Associates degree in related field
  • UKG experience
