Job Title: Payroll Coordinator
Length of Assignment: 2+ months
Location:Los Angeles, CA (remote flex) (will be able to work remote several times per week)
Shift: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (includes a 30 min break)
Note:Exp: 3+ years of experience as Payroll Coordinator/Assistant, Intermediate to advanced level in Excel
Job Description:
The UCLA Health System Payroll department summarizes time and attendance entries for approximately 12,000 Medical Center employees using the HBS Payroll System.
Health System Payroll produces over $51 million in each Fiscal Year 2023 bi-weekly payroll cycle for submission to the UCPath System processing employee's pay.
The Payroll Analyst is responsible for time/personnel data processing for approximately 1500-2500 personnel in cost centers for one or more of the Health System entities (UCLA Ronald Reagan; UCLA-Santa Monica Hospital; UCLA-Neuropsychiatric Hospital; & Tiverton House). Duties also include preparing and entering data for payment, correcting pay entries, completing payroll transactions and processing UCLA Healthcare leave accrual adjustments. In addition to their regular duties the Administrative Analyst works on special projects assigned by the Manager, Assistant Manager and Director. The position may also be responsible for processing payroll for non-hospital funds, such as large research grant, gift funds or 19900 funds, lump sum payments, and salary expense transfers.
Required Experience:
- 3+ years of experience as Payroll Coordinator/Assistant
- Intermediate to advanced level in Excel
- MS Office
Preferred Experience:
- Attendance system experience
- PeopleSoft Experience

Proof of a negative TB test (QuantiFERON only) done within a year of the assignment start date; if positive, evidence of a clear chest x-ray done within 3 months of start date must be provided and a questionnaire from a physician concerning no active TB must be provided along with the x-ray results.
