Summary:
The Payroll Clerk assists payroll in all functions, including compiling and running data.
Essential Duties:
Compiles payroll data, and enters data or computes and posts wages, and reconciles errors, to maintain payroll records, using computer or calculator: Compiles payroll data, such as hours worked, sales or piecework, taxes, insurance, incentive pay, from time sheets, and several time keeping sources.
- Maintains payroll records and files including but not limited to sick time and vacation and other accrued leave.
- Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
- Responds to routine inquiries concerning payroll deductions and accruals, wage garnishments, child support payments, and employment verifications.
- Reviews wages computed and corrects errors to ensure accuracy of payroll.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent, though post-secondary education.
- Minimum 2 years payroll department experience
- Proficient on several different financial or payroll processing systems.
- Demonstrated general math skills, ability to calculate figures and amounts.

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. The employee would be required to sit down at a desk for long periods of time.
