POSITION:
Payroll Clerk
REPORTS TO:
Director of HR
Purpose of the Position:
Ensures all assigned personnel are paid timely and accurately, and that 401(k), tax funding, and all month end activities are done timely and accurately. Support the department with all areas of payroll. Back up the payroll coordinator as needed. Ensure data is current and accurate in the HRIS system and new hire data entry and collection. Ensure all tasks are completed with high attention to detail and confidentiality.
Core Job Functions:
- Process the bi-weekly shoreside payroll
- Assist in processing semimonthly and daily seagoing payroll process
- Process periodic payroll funding and reports for bi-weekly shoreside payroll including timely submission of 401k and HSA
- Enter W4’s direct deposits, 401(k), benefit elections, address changes, garnishments, and various other manual entries for all payrolls in the HRIS and payroll systems
- Review, enter and track compliance related items
- Complete employee verifications, employee garnishment questionnaires, and unemployment inquiries
- Process employee benefit bill monthly using excel
- Respond to employee, union, and vendor inquiries in a timely manner
- Electronically file payroll documents in employee folders
- Assist the HR Analyst with benefits and other HR related tasks as needed
- Represent OSG in a professional manner to provide efficient and economic service to all customers
- Perform all other duties assigned by supervisor or manager
Core Competencies:
- Two + years payroll experience required
- Strong computer skills, deep MS Excel experience required
- Strong detail orientation and accuracy of work is required
- Experience with unions and Ceridian DayForce a plus

OSG currently offers a hybrid work schedule where employees are able to work from home on Monday and Friday and are in the office each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with supervisor approval. This policy is subject to change at any time.

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
