Responsibilities
- Offer proper review and verification of source documents
- Calculate employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments to establish payroll liabilities
- Continue employee confidence in payroll operations by keeping sensitive information confidential
- Take charge of all questions and requests related to payroll
- Report changes where necessary after maintaining payroll operations via company policies and procedures
- Using federal and state regulations and guidelines, certify company compliance
- Compile summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages as part of report preparation
- Other duties as assigned
- Payroll information management via collecting, calculating, and entering data
- Prepare for department heads relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports
- Offer assistance with internal and external audits related to payroll
- Resolving payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
- Reconciling of employee deductions and other liabilities
- Payroll record maintenance by tracking changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers- Mastery of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements
- 2+ years of relevant experience in payroll
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills
- ADP - Payroll experience
- Expertise in Multi-state Payroll
- Payroll for over 500 employees experience
- Data entry, document management, file creation and previous records experience required
- Mastery of internal controls
- Prior experience working with collections/accounting software
- Proficient with high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc.
- Certified Payroll Professional designation preferred
- Experienced in basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen
- The ideal candidate will be highly-skilled with exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills
