Job Summary:
Process organization's payroll and compile payroll data to maintain accurate payroll records.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Processes pay changes.
- Calculates and processes garnishments, child support, etc.
- Ensures payroll-related transactions are processed in compliance with external and internal policies.
- Pulls time daily to keep up with time approved in preparation for payroll weeks.
- Tracks and determines regular and overtime pay.
- Audits maintenance files prepared by payroll clerk.
- Processes bi-weekly payroll, including calculations of applicable federal and state taxes and other benefit related deductions.
- Reviews payroll for incorrect calculations and errors.
- Responds to payroll inquiries and resolves discrepancies as required.
- Research rules and laws and ensures compliance with those rules and laws.
- Prepares check requests for items processed through accounts payable.
- Maintains and files timely payroll information.
- Assists payroll clerk with timely filing of paperwork.
- Backups of other payroll team members as needed.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or its equivalent with 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
- Strong math and algebra skills.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to read and write fluently in English.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Bi-lingual or multi-lingual is a plus
Work Environment:
- Work is performed in a climate-controlled office setting.
