Job Description
The Payroll Administrator is responsible for assisting with payroll processing as well as accurate and timely recording and maintenance of all employee payroll-related data and records. The Payroll Administrator must maintain a high level of confidentiality ensuring data integrity, while delivering high quality customer service.
General Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with preparation and processing of payroll, including regularly scheduled payroll, special payroll runs, manual checks, garnishments, and tax refund requests in a multi-state environment.
  • Research and resolve payroll issues and discrepancies.
  • Balance and control earnings and deduction totals.
  • Calculate and record salary adjustments.
  • Enter data as it pertains to payroll input, hires, terminations, etc.
  • Generate and run payroll reports.
  • Complete general payroll duties as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Regular attendance at the worksite is required.

Position Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain stability under pressure and be flexible and willing to modify plans and behavior when necessary.
  • Knowledge of taxable and non-taxable income, and federal, state, local, and multi-state deductions and requirements is required.
  • Knowledge of garnishment orders, court order medical support, wage assignments, tax levies, child support orders, and interrogatories from courts, law offices, and process servers.
  • Advanced PC skills utilizing Microsoft Office software, including Excel.
  • Workday Payroll knowledge and skill is preferred.
  • Understanding of and experience with tax withholding, benefits, liens, and garnishment laws.
  • Ability to work with highly confidential information is required.
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to build and maintain good rapport with internal and external customers.
  • Flexible and adaptable to change, with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime as necessary.
  • Must be a strong team player.
  • Must be committed to working safely at all times.

Experience/Education:
  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • Experience building reports in HRIS/Payroll system is required.
  • Workday experience is preferred.

Travel:
Negligible travel required.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
