Description
Downtime Fleet, Inc. is looking for an efficient Payroll Administrator who will be the first point of contact for employees in matters of time, attendance and payroll. The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for producing weekly checks for 45+ employees. The ideal candidate's job duties will involve issuing and distributing paychecks, managing direct deposits, benefits withholding, payroll deductions, garnishments and levies, flexible spending accounts, federal and state payroll tax deposits and returns, new hire reports, federal payroll summaries, W-2s, wage and hour law compliance, and paid leave, vacation and sick time reporting.
To be successful as a Payroll Administrator you should have strong numeracy skills and be able to multitask effectively. Ultimately, an outstanding Payroll Administrator should be able to manage all aspects of payroll in a timely and accurate manner.
Job Environment
As a Payroll Administrator, you can expect a typical 40-hour work weeks this is an in-office position and not offered as a remote position. Other office duties might be needed based on time requirements of the outlined role so flexibility and the ideal candidate will be a good team member and willing to help where needed.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Providing information and answering employee questions about payroll related matters.
- Managing electronic timekeeping systems and reviewing timesheets.
- Calculating payable hours, commissions, bonuses, tax withholdings, and deductions.
- Preparing and issuing earnings statements.
- Issuing paychecks and managing direct deposits.
- Maintaining employee records.
- Onboarding and Offboarding employees
- Ability to understand company policies and handbook to help other employees.
- Coordinating with the Corp HR department to ensure correct employee data.
- Providing administrative assistance to the accounting department.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- High school diploma/GED required.
- 2+ years of experience working in a payroll office.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and QuickBooks software programs.
- Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of relevant legal regulations.
- Able to prioritize and multitask effectively.
WHAT WILL HELP YOU STAND OUT:
- Degree in business administration, finance, or accounting preferred.
- 5+ years of payroll administration experience
- Passionate about payroll and all the job entails.
- Certified Payroll Professional certification.
- American Payroll Association member.
- Ability to keep composure in stressful situations.
