The Ideal Candidate
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficiency in Spanish a must.
· Interpersonal skills that demonstrate the ability to work well with employees, management, and external organizations.
· Demonstrated experience with administration of all aspects of payroll
· Ability to work with management in implementation of new policies and changes.
· Proven track-record of credibility, confidentiality, and integrity.
· Highly organized and detail oriented to provide timely and accurate work.
· A high level of comfort working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
· Waste Industry and DOT Compliance experience preferred.
The position involves, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Process full cycle payroll using ADP on a regular schedule, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all payroll transactions.
- Maintain payroll records, including employee information, time and attendance data, and tax withholding details.
- Maintain and optimize the payroll software to meet the organization's specific payroll needs, staying up to date with system updates and best practices.
- Calculate and process adjustments and deductions accurately based on approved documentation.
- Review payroll reports for accuracy and resolve any discrepancies or errors promptly.
- Monitor and resolve payroll discrepancies by conducting regular audits and implementing effective controls.
- Prepare and distribute required payroll reports, tax forms, and other related documents.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, etc.
- Manage onboarding and off boarding of employees.
- Manage benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations, ensuring accurate and timely communication with employees.
- Work with management regarding discipline, safety and company policy compliance.
· Proactive involvement in workers’ compensation claims and leave processing and tracking.
· Manage E-Verify and drug screening program.
Minimum Qualifications
Sufficient education, training and/or work experience to demonstrate possession of the following knowledge, skills, and abilities, which would typically be acquired through:
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, or equivalent.
· Five years of Payroll experience.
· An understanding of Payroll and HR compliance
· A solid understanding of state, federal and local employment laws.
· Strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.
· Two years’ experience with ADP Work Force Now.
· Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
· Possession of a valid California Driver's License.
· Bilingual English and Spanish
