We are hiring a Payroll Accountant to join our team. The Payroll Accountant will be responsible for the accurate preparation, documentation, distribution and reconciliation of payroll and the administration of the payroll system.
The role of the Payroll Accountant in Reside’s mission is to exercise professional judgment to resolve moderately complex accounting problems and recommend ways to improve current processes. The role requires a well-organized and detail-oriented person who can consistently and accurately manage multiple tasks and works well both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Essential Functions
- Process bi-weekly US payroll and monthly international payroll
- Create complex allocation entries for payroll and payroll related costs
- Enter journal entries and some payables for payroll-related invoices
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts
- Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws
- Prepare and file payroll taxes and reports as required by law.
- Drive process improvements and automation to improve efficiencies
- Assist with weekly cash disbursement process
- Collaborate with HR and finance departments to ensure accurate employee data
- Communicate effectively with external agencies, such as tax authorities or auditors
- Other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
- This will not require any supervisory responsibilities.
- May provide cross-training to staff.
Competencies
- Experience with payroll processing systems, UKG a plus
- Experience with high volume multi-state payroll
- Detail oriented
- High level of confidentiality
- Advanced proficiency in Excel
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills – ability to analyze results, draw conclusions and recommend solutions with limited guidance
- Experience working in ERP, and banking platforms
- Ability to successfully work independently with limited supervision
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline driven environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact with all stakeholders
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or equivalent experience
- 2 - 4 years related experience
- Experience working in hospitality or similar industry is preferred
Work Environment
Usual office working conditions. This position will have a desk space with a computer and a phone. The noise level in the work environment is typical of most office environments with telephones, personal interruptions, and background noises.
This position is eligible for partial remote work after the onboarding and training period, typically 30 – 90 days.
Compensation: $95,800.00 to $121,300.00
Position Type: Full-time
Expected Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. May include holidays and/or alternate days or hours as needed.
Travel: This position could require minimal travel, less than 5% of the time.
Work Authorization: The employee must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
