PartnerMD, a membership medical practice specializing in primary care and executive health, has an employment opportunity for Patient Services Representative based at its Owings Mills, MD office. The Patient Services Representative is the first point of contact for PartnerMD patients upon their arrival at their doctor’s office. This position incorporates receptionist and clerical responsibilities with concierge duties in a fast-paced environment.

ESSENTIAL ROLE OBJECTIVES:

Perform front-office support duties

• Greet and welcome patients to the practice, providing a pleasant and professional first impression for patients as they arrive to the office.
• Verify insurance coverage and patient demographic information for patients.
• Check-in and check-out patients as they arrive and depart.
• Answer incoming phone calls.
• Collect money and issuing receipts for patient visits and balances.

Provide excellent customer service for all inquiries and requests

• Ensure requests for information from patients, external providers and others are handled promptly, courteously, and effectively according to HIPAA guidelines.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

• At least two years of customer service experience
• Ability to provide exceptional customer service
• Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to relate to people at all levels of an organization with professionalism and integrity
• Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Knowledge of and comfort with PC-based computing environment, including proficiency with MS Word, Outlook, and willingness to learn other systems unique to PartnerMD
• Preferred: Previous medical office experience with patient service strongly preferred

REPORTING AND OTHER EXPECTATIONS

The position will report to the Practice Manager with significant contact and involvement with the general public and other members of the administrative and management team. The work will be based at PartnerMD’s practice location in Owings Mills, MD. The typical workweek is Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
