Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The PSR is expected to perform position-related duties that include, but are not limited to:
- Provide exemplary customer service and professionalism
- Scanning medical records and maintaining electronic health records
- Greet and direct patients, sales personnel and visitors
- Responsible for answering the phone, establishing the reason for calling, resolving issues and/or transferring callers to the appropriate person
- Review and investigate all returned mail for the appropriate forwarding address
- Communicate check-in and arrival instructions to patient
- Preparation of outgoing documents and correspondence requests
- Enter personal health information and financial information into practice management system with a high rate of accuracy; complies with federal and local laws to ensure patient privacy
- Process Private payments
- Check-in patients as needed
- Some light scheduling responsibilities
- Complete duties and assist others as needed
- Must follow all policies as introduced during new associate On-Boarding, updated real time and outlined in Associate Handbook
- Occasionally available to start shift at 5:30 AM (18-23 days per year)
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or the Equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year in a medical office setting
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and outlook
- Minimum 1-year front office or reception experience, medical preferred
Great organizational and multitasking abilities
- Knowledge of practice management software (Amkai and Next Gen Office) and patient portal software is a plus

- Great interpersonal skills; demonstrating patience, composure, and cooperation; working well with all patients, physicians, and staff.
- Understanding of and adherence to all safety, risk management, and precautionary procedures, including the consistent respect for confidentiality (HIPAA)
- Using time efficiently, with attention to detail, accuracy, and completion
- The ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time
- Resourcefulness in addressing problems and tenacity to see things through to a solution
- Able to adapt to change, delays, or unexpected events while maintaining a positive mindset
- Clear oral and written communication
- Self-motivated; able to work following specific guidelines and in accordance with detailed instructions; overcome obstacles and challenges with little supervision.

Work may be performed in an office and clinical environment. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk or hear. The associate is required to sit for long periods of time, stand and walk, bend and stretch. Use of telephone and computer is required. Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 pounds. May requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
