What You Will Do:
1. Welcome all patients to the health center
2. Performs billing and bookkeeping functions, including collection of co-payments, and providing receipts, posting, and balancing daily sheets and day end reconciliation to assure accuracy.
3. Updates insurance information when appropriate.
4. Verifies insurance enrollment, eligibility, benefits and out of pocket responsibility.
5. Upon patient check out, lab orders will be printed, and referrals will be given.
6. Schedules return appointments in compliance with current policy.
7. Obtains Consent for Medical Treatment and Release of Medical Records
8. Accurately completes computer data entry.
9. Works in an organized, efficient manner so as to keep a smooth and orderly flow of patients moving in and out of the medical office.
10. Maintains a file system necessary for proper organization of work.
11. Scans all documents.
12. Obtains necessary patient release forms in accordance with patient confidentiality and
medical release policies.
13. Reports any patient complaints to the Patient Registration Manager.
14. Makes patient calls as directed by the physicians/providers and Nurse Manager.
15. Records and affixes all incoming correspondence, mail results, medical documents, etc. to appropriate department.
16. Daily cancellation and reschedule of patients, due to emergencies or staffing
17. Confirms appointments as needed.
18. Responsible to answer in-coming telephone calls, take accurate messages and distribute to appropriate party.
What you Bring:

- High School diploma or equivalent is preferred
- 1 to 3 years experience in an applicable healthcare setting is preferred.
- 1 year health insurance verification experience is desired, not required
