Job Title: Patient Representative
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Patient Representative. As a Patient Representative, you will play a crucial role in ensuring positive patient experiences by providing excellent customer service and communication. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to navigate complex healthcare systems. Athenahealth experience a plus.
Responsibilities:
1. Greet and assist patients in a friendly and professional manner.
2. Register new patients and update existing patient information in the system.
3. Answer phone calls, address inquiries, and provide information to patients.
4. Schedule appointments and coordinate with healthcare providers.
5. Verify insurance information and assist with the processing of insurance claims.
6. Collaborate with medical staff to ensure efficient patient care.
7. Address patient concerns and provide assistance in problem resolution.
8. Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
9. Keep abreast of healthcare policies and procedures to provide accurate information to patients.
Requirements:
1. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
2. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to empathize with patients.
3. Previous experience in a healthcare or customer service role is preferred.
4. Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes is a plus.
5. Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
6. Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
7. Proficient in using computer systems and essential office software.
8. Previous use of Athenahealth is a plus.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
