As a Patient Care Coordinator at our periodontal office, you will play a pivotal role in creating a positive first impression for our patients. You will be responsible for managing the front desk operations, ensuring efficient patient flow, and contributing to the overall success of our practice. This position requires excellent communication, organizational skills, and a customer-focused approach.
Patient Reception:
- Greet patients warmly and ensure a welcoming environment at the front desk.
- Efficiently manage patient check-ins and check-outs, providing necessary forms and information.
Appointment Scheduling:
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, coordinating with clinical staff to optimize the appointment calendar.
- Manage and maintain accurate patient scheduling records, ensuring appointments align with practitioner availability.
Communication:
- Handle incoming calls and inquiries with professionalism and courtesy.
- Communicate effectively with patients, clinical staff, and other team members to facilitate smooth operations.
Verification and Insurance Processing:
- Verify patient insurance information..
Patient Records Management:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records following privacy regulations.
- Ensure proper documentation of patient information, including medical history and contact details.
Billing and Financial Transactions:
- Process patient payments, co-payments, and outstanding balances accurately.
- Assist in preparing and submitting financial reports as required.
Office Organization:
- Keep the front desk area organized and tidy.
- Manage and order office supplies, ensuring availability and efficient use of resources.
Conflict Resolution:
- Address patient concerns and resolve issues promptly and courteously.
- Escalate complex issues to the appropriate personnel for resolution.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Patient Care Coordinator or similar role in a healthcare setting, preferably in a dental or periodontal office.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Familiarity with dental terminology, procedures, and insurance processes.
- Proficient in using dental practice management software.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
