Patient Care Assistant ( Na I Or Na Ii Required)

Education and Experience

• CNA 1 is required, CNA 2 preferred
• PCA will achieve competency in four (4) additional skills will be trained as / if needed:
  1. I.V fluid – assistive activities
     • Set up tubing – with flush fluids only,
     • monitor flowrates
     • Site care / dressing change as needed
     • Discontinue peripheral IV infusions and catheter
  2. Urinary catheters and external catheters
     • Insertion (with a wing man) and application
     • Removal
  3. Wound Care
     • wounds must be greater than 48 hours
     • sterile dressing change
     • wound irrigation
