Salary Range: $18.1600 - $27.9000 /hour. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, skill level, and education.

Other duties may include:

• Under direction of the Registered Nurse, performs bedside PATIENT CARE anticipating patient needs, prioritizing care.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for assigned patients: accurately measures and records vital signs, I&O, height and weight, and Activities for Daily Life and records in patient record, ensures patient safety is maintained at all times and is documented.
• Immediately informs Registered Nurse of any changes in patient condition from previous baseline.
• Demonstrates knowledge in the use of equipment pertinent to treatment.
• Under direction of the Registered Nurse, performs routine patient admission and discharge duties and documents in the patient record.

Qualifications
Required

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support certificationf from the American Heart Association.
• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification from the California Department of Public Health, or completion of the first semester of a Registered Nurse degree program or equivalent.
• Must obtain Limited Phlebotomy certification within one year of hire as a Patient Care Assistant (or Registered Nurse license).
• Demonstrates effective communication, interpersonal skills, organizational ability, knowledge of proper body mechanics, safety measures and infection control, ability to follow instructions, knowledge of section specific test information and instrumentation may be required.

Preferred

• Recent employment as a Certified Nursing Assistant.

Compensation Detail
Education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $18.16 per hour.

Full-time, Part-Time, and Per-Diem positions are available.

Available hours: 72 (Full Time), 48 (Part Time) and 24 (Per Diem).
Schedule Details
12-hour shift. Primarily nights (19:00-07:30). Day shifts may also be available (07:00-19:30).
Department Description
As a Patient Care Assistant - Medical Surgical and Telemetry, you'll be asked to help support the nurses who provide direct PATIENT CARE in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act for assigned patients in a medical-surgical or telemetry unit including Medical Pulmonary, Medical Oncology, Surgical, Surgical (GYN/URO), Telemetry, and Medical/Surgical Overflow. You'll work under the direction of a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) providing activities for daily living (ADL) support, comfort care, nutrition, and hygiene care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. You'll also take and record clinical measurements, collect specimens, provide transportation, and maintain equipment and supplies.
