Required Qualifications
- Six months recent direct Patient Care experience in an acute hospital setting
- High School diploma; or equivalent experience
- Ability to understand and communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
- Ability to safely and effectively monitor up to 12 patients at one time (utilizing audio/visual remote monitoring equipment)
- Ability to work effectively within a team
- Ability to satisfactorily perform job duties as defined in the job description
- Willingness to be taught/learn new skills
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic computations (addition and subtraction)
- Ability to organize and effectively set priorities
- Ability to carry out duties of the first responder in emergency situations
- Basic computer keyboard skills and general PC knowledge
- Successful completion of Medical Center Patient Care Assistant training
- Well organized and detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and under pressure
- Efficiency in multitasking and ability to prioritize simultaneous situations
- The flexibility to work and orient at all UCSF locations
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in remote monitoring
- Multilingual skill
- Certified Nursing Assistant or equivalent experience
- Recent Float Pool experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology appropriate to the responsibilities of the job
