Patient Account Representative needed to perform customer service focused duties, payment posting, accounts receivable, and payment collection.
The successful candidate must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
· Knowledge of Medical Billing/Collection Practices
· Knowledge of basic Medical Coding and modifier use
· Basic computer knowledge and typing skills
· Excellent problem-solving skills
· Ability to concentrate for extended periods of time
· Acute attention to detail
· The ability to function independently and as a member of a team
· Outstanding customer service and maintenance of relationships between CBO/Practices and CBO/Patients
· Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information
Job Responsibilities:
· Charge posting including identification of medical necessity and proper use of modifiers
· Editing and processing of insurance claims per payer requirements and with utmost concern for compliance with regulatory requirements
· Daily reconciliation of claim submission and error report resolution
· Payment posting from third party payers, government programs and managed care organizations
· Posting of patient liability payments
· Monitoring and maintaining pending insurance payments and re-filing claims when needed
· Appeal of inappropriately denied claims
· Correction and re-submission of incorrect claims
· Account inquiries, data entry and other office related activities
· Identification of incorrect payments and overpayments from patients and/or third party payers
· Preparing bank deposits and monitoring daily checks and EFTs
· Daily balancing of account transactions
· Identification of improper payments according to contracts
· Participation in educational activities and monthly staff meetings
· Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance to HIPAA regulations
Job Requirements: High School Graduate or GED Required. 1-3 years experience in health care reimbursement.

Pay: $21.42 - $32.00 per hour
