Pathology Transcriber/ Assistant

OB SUMMARY

Pathology Transcriptionist is responsible for the accurate transcription of pathology reports, filing, patient reports, monitoring pathology billing and other related administrative tasks as assigned. Coordinates pathology consultations. Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High School Diploma or GED. Courses in medical terminology and computer applications.

Experience: Medical Transcription experience preferred. Transcription experience in a Pathology setting is desirable. Demonstrates proficiency in the use of computers and word-processing software; proficiency normally acquired through training or previous experience. Effective interpersonal communication skills in order to acquire needed information and maintain cooperative work relationships with internal and external customers.
