Pastry cooks are the Shadows employees most directly responsible for making cookies, cakes, breads, and other desserts. Pastry cooks will use the supplies produced by the prep cooks and the recipes designed by the Executive Chef and Owners in a timely fashion, to the high quality standards set by the organization.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Essential Job Functions:
- Bake pastry items according to pre-established recipes
- Decorate pastries in a consistent style
- Follow plating and display standards
- Follow portion standards
- Maintain inventory of prepped ingredients
- Properly label and store ingredients
- Keep kitchen area and tools clean
Physical Requirements of the Pastry Cook Position:
- Withstand temperatures of 0 degrees Fahrenheit or less and 100 degrees Fahrenheit or greater for periods of 30 minutes or more.
- Move 50 lbs. distances of up to 100 ft.
- Understand and respond to e verbal requests and visual cues in a loud and extremely busy environment.
- Must be able to walk and stand for periods up to 5 hours.
Education Requirements:
A high school diploma is preferred but may not be necessary with the right level of experience. Pastry-making experience is also preferred. Must be 18 years of age or older.
Salary Range
- $16.00 – $19.00 per hour
Primary duties represented, but other duties may be assigned.
