Are you interested in joining a fun-loving, hardworking community of food and beverage enthusiasts? An up-and-coming European-style bakery café in the heart of Falls Church City is seeking a Pastry Chef to oversee daily production and supervision of the pastry team. The right candidate will lead the Pastry Cooks in creating cakes, tarts, individual desserts and other cold display case dessert items.
The ideal candidate is the one committed to excellence who will:
- Develop cakes and dessert offerings in line with the company's vision.
- Plan production and develop seasonal offerings.
- Lead the team and keep staff organized and motivated.
- Possess well-developed artistic talents that include a skilled sense of composition, balance, and design.
- Possess highly developed cake decorating skills.
- Possess the ability to create designs with or without reference materials.
- Possess a positive, high-energy, friendly, enthusiastic, team-oriented attitude.
- Enjoy being a part of a multicultural team.
- Be professional, reliable, organized, and efficient, with excellent time management skills.
- Be able to handle high pressure and volume, and work quickly.
- Possess knowledge of classic European desserts.
- Have a minimum of 2 years of Pastry Chef experience in high volume food production.
- Be able to work weekends, evenings, and occasional holidays, as needed.
