GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
The Deckhand plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and security of the vessel's exterior and secured areas while also serving passengers. They are responsible for safety, assisting the engineer and captain, handling lines, taking drink orders, and ensuring passenger safety during boarding. This entry-level position includes comprehensive training.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: May include, but not limited to, the following:
- Engages with passengers in a fun, kind, and professional manner.
- Maintains the cleanliness of all outer decks including furniture, windows, handrails, etc.
- Assists the engineer with repairs and maintenance of the vessel.
- Acts as a lookout for the captain.
- Assists passengers onto and off of the vessel via wheelchair.
- Participates in safety and training drills and exercises.
- Handles lines in a safe manner.
- Respond to all General Alarms and emergency situations per station bill.
- Assist as directed with other shipboard tasks and duties.
MUST BE ABLE TO:
- Pass a drug screening as well as be enrolled in a random D.O.T. drug screening program.

- Lift, carry, push or pull 50 lbs.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to pass a security threat assessment and be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credentials) card.
- Must be able to successfully obtain a First Aid and CPR certification
- Must complete deckhand training and perform a written exam as well as demonstrate skills necessary.
- Prefer candidates with USCG MMC for OS or AB.

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
