Parts Inventory Analysts must analyze and manage inventory purchases to meet customer demand and organizational targets for inventory turnover. The objective is to be able to provide our customers with adequate stock of the right parts, at the right location, at the time they need it, at the lowest cost.
In order to achieve this, the analyst must strictly follow the Company’s inventory management guidelines which are designed to maintain an equitable balance between inventory investment, customer service, and operational efficiencies. Further, the Inventory Analyst must be able to interpret details from inventory management reports to validate sales demand, review item activity indicator and stock type, and item cost as stocking and inventory replenishment decisions are made.
Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities for the Parts Inventory Analyst include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Reinforces company’s commitment to a safe workplace environment and ensures the safety of themselves and fellow team members
- Perform detailed analysis of inventory control reports to determine parts stocking needs that meet customer demand and organizational targets for inventory turnover. Take action based on established company guidelines for parts stocking and replenishment. Must be able to articulate a detailed explanation of the thought process and criteria used to produce any single inventory stocking or replenishment transaction upon request.
- Update and maintain system records to ensure that these drive proper stocking levels and the most accurate parts information is provided to Parts Department employees. This includes: pricing updates, replaced or discontinued items, alternate parts, editing history of calls/demands, etc.
- Timely and accurate processing of miscellaneous vendor orders for inventory or customer emergency backorders as needed. Follow up on orders that are placed and communicate any issues to the store personnel or customer that processed the order. Timely and accurate resolution of any processing grief on emergency orders.
- Process claims to vendors as required. Follow up until a resolution is reached. Determine proper course of action based on the type of claim. Communicate the resolution to the corresponding Parts Manager(s). Work with Accounting in the application of any credits or debits for claims to the proper
- Shared responsibility of monitoring inventory control inbox. Assists with resolution of Parts Inventory problems. Promptly respond to request with high sense of urgency. elevate discrepancy issues to Parts Inventory Manager as needed
