Job Title: Parts Clerk
Job Description Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Parts Clerk. The Parts Clerk will play a crucial role in our organization by managing the inventory of parts and ensuring that the right components are readily available for maintenance, repairs, and production. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of inventory management.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of parts inventory.
- Monitor stock levels and reorder parts as needed to avoid shortages.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure inventory accuracy and identify discrepancies.
Receiving and Inspecting:
- Receive incoming shipments of parts and verify the accuracy of the delivered items.
- Inspect parts for quality and report any discrepancies or defects.
- Update inventory records upon receipt of new stock.
Order Processing:
- Process internal and external requests for parts.
- Prepare and package parts for shipping or distribution.
- Coordinate with suppliers to track order status and resolve any issues.
Documentation:
- Maintain organized and detailed records of all transactions.
- Generate reports on inventory levels, consumption, and order status.
- Keep track of warranties, returns, and repairs for defective parts.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with maintenance and production teams to understand their parts requirements.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines when handling parts.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to inventory management.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in inventory management is a plus.
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or maintenance environment.
- Proficient in using computerized inventory management systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, as needed.
