Job Summary: The primary purpose of the job is the management of all Parts and Service department activity; direction, coordination, and evaluation of the department, including meeting the needs of both the customer and the internal departments expediently.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: (additional duties may be assigned)
Ensure customers are handled promptly, professionally and with accuracy, for all of their business needs. Responsible for the accuracy of the parts inventory; evaluate stock requirements and parts inventory levels weekly; organize vendor stock returns; provide weekly verification that vendor returns for non-stock items are done on a case by case basis; identify more economical vendors for parts procurement purposes; develop annual sales objectives.
Schedule technician workload and maximize efficiencies, where possible. Process all branch repair orders with accuracy and with efficiency to ensure 100% customer satisfaction.
Ensure that the Parts and Service department sales and profit margin goals are met; monthly evaluate vendor performance; institute standard processes and procedures for all parts department activities; oversee stockroom; receive customer parts orders.
Organize and supervise the company's physical inventory; provide input on company vehicles regarding repairs and feasibility of repairs as opposed to replacement of unit; supervise non-supervisory employees; carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws; interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing customer and internal inquiries, while resolving problems.
Ensure activities within the Departments are operating within all local and federal regulations.
Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; excellent oral and written communication skills; understanding of basic mathematics-addition, subtraction, multiplication and division; apply concepts of basic algebra; problem solve.
Physical Requirements: Regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds utilizing safe methods with equipment or assistance; occasionally exposed to moving mechanical Parts and outside weather conditions; noise level is usually moderate.
