NovaCare Rehabilitation in WESTMINSTER MD is seeking a Part Time/ Per Diem Hand Therapist for Six Week Temporary Coverage
100% Outpatient Hand - Wrist - Elbow Caseload
NovaCare in Westminster Maryland is seeking a temporary Part Time or per diem (PRN) Occupational Therapist (OT) / Hand Therapist for a six week leave starting in March. You must be comfortable as the solo OT onsite with remote support from our additional Carroll CountyHand Therapists. We can consider 30-35 hours per week.
A certified Hand Therapist (CHT) is ideal, but not required. You must have at least two (2) years of experience treating an upper extremity caseload with at least one (1) year treating in an outpatient setting. We are unable to consider a new graduate OT.
Splinting and splint fabrication skills are a PLUS but not required.
We can be flexible on the days and hours based on your availability and the needs of our patients. Evenings until 7pm are our busiest time and greatest coverage request.
We have a local and national network of Hand Therapists and certified Hand Therapists available for support and welcome experienced Hand Therapists and certified Hand Therapists (CHTs) to join a national leader in hand therapy.
Schedule: SIX WEEK COVERAGE Negotiable based on your availability and our patients. Some evenings until 7pm are expected with last patient schedule an hour prior to close. Approximately 30-35 hours available.
Benefits and Incentives: We can discuss your participation in our CEU accrediting courses as they arise during this six-week timeframe. Additional hours as a per diem (PRN) as needed basis may be available post.

- Responsible for the evaluation, plan of care, treatment, re-evaluation, discharge, and appropriate communications of high quality hand therapy services to patients and customers.
- Develop treatment plans, supervise assistants and aides, contribute to case management, and provide quality patient care.
- Maintain positive level of interaction with facilities and clients. Enhance and expand client relations with facilities and their staff.
- Stay current and up to date with Occupational Therapy research and employ Evidence Based Practice (RCB, clinician expertise, patient perception).
- Must be a graduate of an accredited school for Occupational Therapy.
- Must be working towards specialty certification or licensure in Hand Therapy
- National registration and state licensure or registration REQUIRED
- Minimum of two years experience in application of custom splinting pre and post-op orthopedic required
- Minimum two years in adult rehabilitation; hand and splinting experience required
- Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
- Valid state driver’s license
