Position: Clubhouse Youth Development Professional (Must be 21+ Years Old to Apply)

Organization: Boys and Girls Clubs of San Leandro

Position: Youth Development Professional (Part-Time)

Location: San Leandro, CA (Headquarters)

Hours: Monday-Friday, 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Hourly Pay: $20 per hour

For over 75 years, the Boys and Girls Clubs of San Leandro has been a cornerstone of the San Leandro and greater East Bay community. Our mission is to inspire youth – especially those who need us most - to achieve their full potential in a safe, positive, and engaging environment. We provide a range of programs, including Afterschool Programming, school break day camps, and summer camps, to youth ages 4-18 years old. Responsibilities:

As a Clubhouse Youth Development Professional, your role is pivotal in shaping the lives of teenagers. Responsibilities include:

  • Mentorship: Providing a safe and supportive space for teens as they pursue academic success, develop healthy lifestyles, and build good character and citizenship.
  • Program Facilitation: Creating and leading engaging programs and workshops in your area of passion, fostering skill development and personal growth.
  • Workshop and Program Development: Actively participating in the design and implementation of programs and workshops that cater to the interests and developmental needs of teenagers.
  • Supervision: Ensuring a positive and inclusive atmosphere for teens to thrive.
  • Team Collaboration: Working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve program goals and share best practices.
Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Minimum age requirement: 21 years old.
  • Must be able to work Monday-Friday, 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM, or Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
  • Some experience working with middle school or high school-aged youth.
  • Passion for at least one of the following subjects: music production, graphic design, technology, basketball, creative arts, leadership, or culinary arts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
