Your Responsibilities
As a Part-Time Student Process Planning Engineer for John Deere Parts Distribution Center located in Milan, IL, you will...
- Provide engineering support to various warehouse departments, regional distribution centers, operations, and engineering staff
- Support engineering projects to drive improvements in key business metrics
- Utilize data tools to analyze key warehouse processes, data, and metrics
- Design warehouse layouts for optimal material flow and density
This position is not available to students on immigration visas.
What Skills You Need
- Ideally you will be pursuing a STEM-related degree; others may apply
- Must be registered as a full-time student at a local (Iowa/Illinois) accredited university
- Graduation date of May 2026 or later
- Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
- Available to work 16-20 hours/week during the academic year
- Available to work 35-40 hours/week during the summer semester
- Must be able to commute to Milan, Illinois, on a weekly basis year-round (NOTE: Relocation assistance is not provided)
What Makes You Stand Out
- Experience using computer aided design and/or engineering tools such as AutoCAD or Minitab, Solidworks, Creo
- Knowledge of computer programming languages such as SQL and Python, and reporting tools such as Tableau and PowerBI to analytically interpret data
- Experience using engineering tools, systems, and databases
- Self-starter with high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Organizational and project management skills
- Effective communication skills working with a diverse group of stakeholders
