Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced, part-time, Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) to join our team. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a pivotal role in promoting oral health and hygiene for patients. Your responsibilities will include conducting dental cleanings, performing oral examinations, and providing preventive dental care. Additionally, you will educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and help them understand the importance of maintaining good dental health. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional dental care to improve overall patient well-being.
What You Will Do
- Ensures patients feel as comfortable as possible before their examination
- Maintains and sterilizes dental instruments and equipment according to infection control guidelines.
- Conducts comprehensive dental hygiene assessments, including oral examinations, medical and dental histories, and charting.
- Identifies oral health conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontitis.,
- Performs professional dental cleanings, including scaling, root planing, and polishing, to remove plaque, calculus, and stains from teeth.
- Assists dentists during dental procedures, including dental exams and selecting appropriate treatments for various oral health issues.
- Administers fluoride treatments and applies dental sealants to protect teeth from decay.
- Performs periodontal assessments and provides non-surgical periodontal therapy, including scaling and root planing.
- Educates patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, including brushing, flossing, and diet recommendations.
- Provides instructions to patients after operations or other dental procedures.
- Take X-rays or dental impressions, intra-oral pictures and iTero scans; follow iTero protocol.
- Documents patient treatment plans, procedures performed, and patient education in electronic health records.
- Monitors supply usage and inventory levels.
- Uses, protects, and discloses TDB patients’ protected health information (PHI) in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards.
- Completes continuing education courses as required by state licensing standards.
- Completes and signs off on all end day forms as per company protocols.
- Ensures daily production goals are met.
- Assists the team in cleaning the office (trash, floors, restrooms, instruments, etc.).
- All other duties as assigned.
What You Will Have
- Registered dental hygiene license as required by the state.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene
- Additional experience, certifications, or licensing may be required.
- Strong computer skills and experience with healthcare databases and applications.
- Willingness to comply with all local, state, and federal healthcare regulations and preventative measures (HIPAA confidentiality, infection spread, etc.)
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a compassionate demeanor to provide exceptional patient care and comfort during treatments.
- Proficiency in advanced chairside procedures, including assisting with complex dental treatments such as surgical procedures, root canals, and restorative dentistry.
- Extensive experience and knowledge in taking dental radiographs (X-rays) and ensuring their accuracy and clarity.
- Thorough understanding of sterilization and infection control protocols to maintain a safe and hygienic clinical environment.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated on advancements in dental technology and practices through continuing education programs and training opportunities.
- Possesses effective management skills and strong leadership abilities.

- Monday's for now, with an opportunity to gain more hours as the practice grows!
