Responsibilities:
- Perform dental hygiene procedures, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Assess patients' oral health and provide appropriate treatment recommendations
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care
- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide as needed
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using electronic dental software systems (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft)
- Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean and sterile environment
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
Requirements:
- Valid Dental Hygiene license in [state]
- Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program
- Proficiency in medical coding for dental procedures
- Experience working with pediatric patients is preferred
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft)
- Strong knowledge of infection control protocols and practices
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
