Summary
The Receptionist is directly responsible for greeting visitors, monitoring the telephones, alarm and intercom systems. The Receptionist is also responsible for typing, filing, copying, payroll, computer duties, clerical support functions, and any other job duties as assigned by Business Office Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Maintains continuous coverage of front desk during assigned times.
Arranges coverage of front desk by other Community staff for lunch and breaks.
Answers all incoming telephone calls and directs calls to appropriate staff.
Takes telephone messages for those staff members unable to answer incoming calls.
Greets all visitors and assists them as needed.
Maintains records of resident sign in-sign out.
Monitors resident activity and alerts staff when assistance is necessary to assure resident safety.
Monitors door alarm system in accordance to community policy and procedure.
Maintains and request lists for maintenance, dietary and nursing in appropriate manner.
Operates and monitors resident call system and notifies staff of need for assistance.
Maintains inventory control system of all office supplies and ensures security of equipment within the business office.
Maintains familiarity with fire safety and emergency procedures detailed in the fire and disaster plan and be able to assist in transferring residents to a safe location in the event of an emergency
Manages employee meal ticket and guest ticket sales.
Perform clerical work including but not limited to typing, copying, filing, payroll, mailing, and other light office work as assigned by the Executive Director.
Assures that lobby area, reception area and entry are kept clean, neat and orderly.
Notifies appropriate staff of unsafe situations within the building or grounds.
Performs other tasks as assigned by any member of management.
Orients and trains any relief desk coverage.
Minimum Qualifications and Skills
Ability to read, write and speak English fluently. Ability to speak clearly on the telephone and maintain pleasant presence and tone of voice while interacting with visitors, residents or staff.
Ability to type 40-45 WPM and operate computer system.
Maintains acceptable attendance record; notifies supervisor if late or unable to work, is able to work flexible hours to meet the requirement of the job.
Requires minimal supervision. Is a self-starter.
Is accurate, dependable, neat and thorough in assigned tasks.
Organizes and utilizes time appropriately; sets priorities to accomplish assigned tasks.
Displays mature behavior and attitude in speech and action; demonstrates consistently pleasant demeanor, tone of voice, supports the philosophy and approach to care used by the community. Receptionist
Keeps resident information confidential; respects resident rights; respects privacy and right to self-determination of residents.
Interacts in a professional manner with the public, residents and staff; works cooperatively with administration and displays willingness to assist co-workers

Ability and willingness to learn quickly.
Thursday, Friday & Saturday 8am to 5pm with 30 min lunch.

Pay: $10.00 - $11.00 per hour
