Title: Payroll and Benefits Manager

Location: Remote

Reports to: Principal, Human Resources

Role: Part Time (24 hours per week)


Position Overview:

AMA Group is looking for an experienced Payroll and Benefits Manager to join our HR team. The primary responsibility of this role is to manage multi-entity payroll using Paylocity. You will be responsible for preparing and processing bi-weekly payroll for AMA Group and its business units across all national offices.


Role Responsibilities:

As the Payroll and Benefits Manager, you will be tasked with the following responsibilities:

  • Payroll operations for multiple entities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness in payroll processing
  • Utilize expertise in Paylocity to maintain payroll records, process payroll, handle tax filings, and resolve any payroll discrepancies
  • Generate reports for payroll processing and reporting, including for Payroll-Based Journal and GL and labor budget reporting
  • Complete reporting and payment of weekly, quarterly, and year-end taxes
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to streamline processes, implement best practices, and enhance payroll-related systems and procedures
  • Manage employee benefits administration primarily from a payroll perspective, ensuring seamless integration between payroll and benefits functions
  • Assist with time tracking, manage paid leave paperwork and relevant reporting
  • Familiarity with Deltek to supplement payroll operations where needed
  • Partner with your HR peers and the Controller on payroll issues
Requirements:


Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field


Experience:

  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in payroll management, multi-entity environment required
  • Paylocity experience required
  • Working knowledge with Deltek is preferred but not required
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll processes, taxation, and compliance regulations at the federal, state, and local levels
  • Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks, successfully work independently, and strong organization and computer skills
  • Working knowledge of New York and California Payroll/Benefits/Leave laws

Salary: $48 - $58 per hour (100K – 120K full-time equivalent). This role is benefits eligible.


Actual base salary may vary based upon, but is not limited to, relevant experience, time in the role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
