We are looking for a qualified and experienced Part-Time Payroll Assistant/Data Entry Clerk to add to our team....IMMEDIATELY!!! This part-time position requires you to be the "right-hand" to our HR Director for the Hampton Roads region, so reliability and dependability is a must! If you are detailed, organized, and have a positive attitude, then you belong here in the Administrative Office of Southern Auto Group.
It's exciting that we are continuing to grow at such a rapid pace. This means more job opportunities for our friends and family in our region, and that's a beautiful thing! This also means more employees and more Payroll obligations that need to be met. This position will require about 40 hours of your time per month with room to grow. We will also be able to provide your schedule at least 30 days in advance so that you can still enjoy your spare time while making a few extra dollars to put in your piggy bank! The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, GED, and/or relative Payroll experience. Candidates must have strong administrative, computer, and organizational skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Compile biweekly payroll data from time sheets and information provided by the parts and services directors
- Calculate vacation pay for non-hourly employees
- Update master payroll records, new hires, wage changes, tax and benefits deductions, compensation increases, etc. Transfer employees between departments or locations
- Process payments for insurance benefits
- Process uniform deposit refunds
- Record sales and employee service contributions, and company match for the Christmas/Longevity bonus program
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school, GED, or equivalent employment experience
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information
- Mathematical Skills with ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage
- Ability to apply common sense and understanding in order to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
