Part-Time Paralegal

Solo practitioner law firm in West Hartford Center focusing on plaintiff's personal injury. We strive to help our clients who are experiencing the traumatic effects of being in an accident and being hurt. We strive to provide personalized attention to their case and their needs. We strive to provide superior results for our clients.

Currently seeking a part-time paralegal with the hopes that the position becomes full-time down the road.

```Duties```

- Gather relevant information for attorney

-Obtain and review medical records of clients

-Assist in preparing discovery documents and requests
- Organize and maintain legal documents and case files
- Assist in preparing legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, contracts, and agreements
- Transcribe legal documents and correspondence
- Manage document systems and databases for efficient retrieval of information
- Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and closings
- Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently

```Requirements```

-Demonstrated interest in the legal field

-Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Acrobat

- Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies or related field is a plus
- Proven experience working as a Paralegal or in a similar role is a plus

-Spanish proficiency is a plus
- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail
- Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures
- Proficiency in using Document Management Systems (DMS) such as MyCase
- Ability to assist attorneys in all stages of litigation process

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $21.63 - $26.05 per hour

Expected hours: 15 per week
