Part Time Nanny/Babysitter

This person will be providing care & companionship for a 7 year old high functional boy with Autism (ASD)..

It will include assisting in reaching his maximum level of independence and power of potential by promoting a sense of self-worth, acceptance, achievement, play time, personal growth and personal choice.

The person needs to be passionate about working with kids with disabilities and making a difference in their lives.

Requires local travel with family including but not limited to or from school, Grocery shopping, Swimming lessons, Play Grounds, during therapies will be with the kid and responsible for safety and well being of the child.

Giving relief and assistance to current caregiver.

Qualifications/Skills:

Health promotion and maintenance

Creating a safe, effective environment

Bedside manner

Promoting mental health

Listening, analyzing information, and focusing on quality

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Valid NYS Driver’s License

Additional Qualifications:

• Effective verbal and written communication skills – ability to exhibit and maintain a professional, kind, courteous, and patient manner at all times.
• Reading and Math skills at a level to perform job duties – read and implement physician orders, give medications as ordered, prepare recipes, read program documentation, etc.
• Demonstrated interest and ability to make possible the personal outcomes of people receiving services.
• Lifting/Transferring – People and/or items of various weights. Ability to bend reach, push, pull, and must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Ability to safely use household chemicals.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 – 16 per week
