The Groundskeeper position is responsible for maintaining the upkeep of all agency facilities and properties. This role is responsible for various maintenance duties, with a focus on groundskeeping, building exteriors, and supporting the maintenance department as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate work that needs to be done in all agency facilities.
- Perform routine and regular preventative maintenance work.
- Perform inspection of facilities and equipment. Advise management of safety issues and any needed repairs or upgrades.
- Perform upkeep of all agency facilities such as lights, grounds, and landscaping.
- Assists maintenance department with interior projects.
- Track and document all work done.
- Inventory and purchase equipment and materials and ensure expenses are within budget limit.
- Keep records and receipts of all purchases and submit to the Finance department in a timely manner.
- Review manufacturers' service manuals and records of maintenance problems to determine optimum frequency of preventive maintenance.
- Confer with department heads and/or supervisors to schedule maintenance and repair to ensure minimal interruption with their scheduled activities.
- Collaboratively work with staff in setting up agency sponsored events.
- Estimate costs for parts and supplies needed during scheduled maintenance.
- Develop and coordinate plans for the maintenance, repair, or installation of new equipment.
- Work with the Facilities Coordinator in locating vendors, soliciting bids, and in securing contracts.
- Respond to inquiries regarding maintenance-related issues and concerns.
- Participate in agency committees and perform tasks as assigned.

Experience and Educational Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least two years of building maintenance and/or vehicle repair.
Licensing and Certifications:
- Valid Minnesota driver’s license and proof of current automobile insurance
Other Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must successfully pass the criminal background check.
