Full-time Groundskeeper Position

This is a full-time, salaried position responsible for all lawn care maintenance duties as well as building and grounds maintenance. Typical workday hours are from 8:00 am-5:00 pm. Hours vary seasonally, averaging 40 hrs./week.

Some weekly schedule flexibility depending on season$17-20/hr. DOE. Paid lunch breaks. Competitive benefits package. 1 free drink after 3 or more work hours

Responsibilities Include:

• Mowing grounds lawn with both a zero-turn mower, self-propelled push mower, and string trimmer for difficult areas
• Irrigation repair, maintenance, and spring turn-on service
• Re-seeding, over-seeding, and fertilization programs as needed
• Bi-annual lawn aeration
• Sidewalk and hard surface lawn edging
• Trapping moles and gophers
• Blowing off sidewalks and surfaces with a backpack blower daily
• Daily general trash and debris clean up
• Seasonal maintenance and storage of outdoor furniture
• Seasonal leaf cleanup
• Occasional assistance with garden maintenance tasks
• Light mechanical maintenance with small engines and equipment
• Snow removal with snow blowers, skid loaders, and tractors, as well as shoveling
• Salt applications to sidewalks
• Assisting with Christmas light installation and storage
• Occasional assistance with winery bottling tasks
• Building maintenance of HVAC system, lighting, water softener system, kitchen and bar equipment
• Occasional forklift operation
• Minor repair of facility hardware, equipment and interior/exterior surfaces
• gutter cleaning
• Scheduled re-staining/re-painting of exterior/interior surfaces
• Seasonal window cleaning

Position Requirements:

• Dependable transportation
• Valid driver's license
• Strong work ethic
• Ability to work on your feet for up to 8 hours
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Occasional weekend availability during wedding season
• Strong attention to detail
• 2 or more years of experience with zero-turn mowers, string trimmers, backpack blowers, and push mowers
• Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
• 2 or more years of irrigation maintenance and operation experience
• Willingness to certify in forklift operation
• Ability to work independently
• Strong communication skills
• 3 years or more experience in operation of skid loaders, tractors, and ATV/UTVs
• 2 or more years experience with general building maintenance
• 1 or more years experience with mechanical maintenance including changing mower belts, fluids, filters, and blades as well as general small/large engine maintenance

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
