As a driver transporting passengers for RLEXT, you are responsible for providing safe, courteous, and efficient transport services.
1. **Safety and Legal Compliance:**
- Ensuring the vehicle is in good working condition by performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Complying with all traffic laws and regulations.
- Maintaining a valid driver's license and any necessary certifications.
- Following company policies and procedures as well as local, state, and federal regulations regarding transportation services.
2. **Customer Service:**
- Greeting passengers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Assisting passengers with boarding and exiting the vehicle, as well as with luggage or other personal items.
- Accommodating special requests when possible, such as preferred routes or stops.
3. **Navigation and Time Management:**
- Planning routes to ensure the most efficient trip and to avoid delays.
- Using GPS and other navigation tools effectively.
- Managing time effectively to arrive for pick-ups on schedule and to deliver passengers to their destinations on time.
4. **Communication:**
- Communicating with dispatch or a central office regarding trip details, issues on the road, or changes in schedule.
- Informing passengers of any potential delays or issues during the trip.
- Handling customer queries or concerns during the journey in a calm and professional manner.
5. **Vehicle Maintenance and Cleanliness:**
- Keeping the vehicle clean inside and out to provide a pleasant experience for passengers.
- Reporting any vehicle maintenance issues to the appropriate department promptly.
- Ensuring the vehicle has sufficient fuel and is ready for operation at all times.
6. **Financial Transactions:**
- Collecting fares or payments according to company policy.
- Issuing receipts if required.
- Handling electronic payment systems and cash responsibly.
7. **Record Keeping:**
- Accurately recording trip details, including time, mileage, and fares.
- Reporting any accidents or incidents immediately to the appropriate authorities and to the company management.
8. **Professional Development:**
- Staying updated with new laws and regulations regarding driving and passenger transport.
- Participating in any required training or certification programs.
9. **Health and Hygiene:**
- Following health guidelines, especially if required due to public health concerns (e.g., wearing masks, using hand sanitizer, vehicle disinfection protocols).
10. **Emergency Handling:**
- Knowing how to administer basic first aid if necessary.
- Being prepared to handle vehicle breakdowns, accidents, or passenger emergencies calmly and efficiently.
11. **Confidentiality and Privacy:**
- Respecting the privacy of passengers and not disclosing personal information or details of their travel to unauthorized individuals.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 30 per week
