Position Summary:
JEC Miller, Inc. is looking to hire Full-time and Part-time Behavioral Health Technicians to work as Stabilization Skills Staff in the afternoons and evenings with our IDD Stabilization Program in Dakota County. The Behavioral Health Technicians work in a direct care role providing in the moment supports to the child and their family in their family homes to help them achieve their goals and maintain safety. The children we support have intellectual or developmental disabilities and are experiencing an increase in mental health or behavioral symptoms that require a staff that is comfortable responding to and redirecting physical aggression, verbal aggression, and property destruction.
We are currently looking to hire individuals to work one to one with children at the stabilization site or in family homes throughout Dakota County. All staff may be required to work at both the site and in home depending on the needs of the program.

Potential Shifts:
Monday-Friday 6:00am-10:00am
Required Skills:
- The ideal Behavioral Health Technician will be comfortable helping children manage interfering behavior (physical and verbal aggression) and regulate their emotions.
- Behavioral Health Technicians are responsible for helping the children with their tasks of daily living. The children we work with vary in abilities and staff are required to assist in tasks of daily living such as bathing and toileting as needed.
- The children we work with also require a staff person that is engaged and willing to participate in activities of the child's choice and be committed to helping them achieve their goals while enjoying their lives.
- Behavioral Health Technicians are required to work with individuals both at the site and in their family home depending on where the child and family are at during the program.
Qualifications:
- Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record.
- 21 years of age or older
- Ability to pass DHS background study
- Extensive education and/or experience with children with IDD and interfering behavior such as hitting, kicking, and biting.
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds
- Must be willing to work at homes throughout Dakota County, MN
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $22.50 per hour
