Department VICE PRES/ACADEMIC SUPPORT (BL-VPAS-IUBLA) Job Summary The Data Manager is responsible for collecting and analyzing data, maintaining databases, and working with Center staff and interns to ensure consistent collection and reporting. Primary responsibilities will include managing and analyzing programming data, mailing lists, and survey responses to deliver insights about the impact of our programming initiatives. Since the Data Manager submits data access requests, they must maintain appropriate IU compliance training and data use permissions.
The Data Manager will lead, supervise, and train a team of 1-2 student interns. Department Specific Responsibilities Conducts analyses on programming and survey response data. Creates and presents quarterly reports on programming data using visuals that are easy to understand.
Designs, tests, and distributes surveys in Qualtrics. Maintains databases in Qualtrics, IU Salesforce Marketing Cloud, IU CRM, and Microsoft Excel to ensure consistent data collection across units. Documents work in detail (data sources, reporting criteria, tools used, etc.).
Implements improvements to standard operating procedures regarding data use. Leads weekly meetings with a team of 1-2 data interns, communicating goals, and creating a supportive work environment. Qualifications EDUCATION Required Bachelor's degree WORK EXPERIENCE Preferred Some related experience SKILLS Required Proficient use of Microsoft Word Proficient use of Microsoft Excel effectively utilizing formulas, pivot tables, and record matching techniques Ablility to manipulate, validate, and analyze large data sets in Microsoft Excel Adept at learning new software applications such as Qualtrics, IU Salesforce marketing Cloud, and IU CRM Able to work and problem solve independently Working Conditions / Demands 20 hours per week Additional Information Applicants who do not meet 100% of the listed qualifications are still welcome to apply.
Work Location This position is eligible to work a hybrid schedule (mix between remote and in-person work), subject to change in the future based on university policy and business needs.
