This is an onsite position located at our Capitol Branch, 3001 N Lincoln Blvd, OKC, OK 73105, and is not remote nor work from home.
JOB DUTIES:
- Provide outstanding member service and contribute to overall team effort.
- Fully understand and actively assist members in using credit union products and services.
- Generate all paperwork for Collateral Protection Insurance (CPI), small claims, bankruptcy filings, garnishments, tax levies, credit report disputes, and mortgage delinquent letters. This will be a significant portion of the position.
- Contact delinquent accounts to request payment, record promises on accounts and schedule follow-up contact.
- Notify co-signers of delinquent accounts to assist in collecting payments.
- Initiate appropriate follow-up action on mail returned as undeliverable.
- Skip-trace accounts according to established practices.
- Prepare correspondence on delinquent accounts that require special handling.
- Research disputed delinquent account balances; correct any errors, including misapplied payments, reversed late charges, direct deposit errors, and over-payments from insurance errors.
- Provide assistance to the phone center with member calls as requested.
- Ensure confidentiality regarding member transactions and information.
- Ensure compliance with all credit union policies and procedures.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Customer service experience
- Six months of collections or financial institution experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
