Anderson County Library is seeking a part-time clerk to work an average of twenty (20) hours per week at our Main branch, which will include some evenings and weekends. This position will perform various library functions and clerical duties within the branch, including but not limited to:
- Coordinates with Teen/Young Adult Librarian on program planning procedures and implementing activities for teens, including after school and evening programs.
- Maintains Gambrell Teen area, including upkeep of space, inventory, and creating engaging, interactive displays; provides supervision in the Gambrell Teen Room during open hours after school and on weekends.
- Assists with collection development tasks as assigned.
- Supports the Young Adult Librarian with clerical tasks including tracking and recording program attendance, assisting with program publicity details, and creating and proofreading reports.
- Maintains confidential patron records and preserves confidentiality of said records.
- Able to work nights and weekends. Assist in changes of daily work schedule due to unexpected public demands, covering hours for employees on vacation and sick time.
- Performs other related duties as required. May fill in other positions within the Youth Services department.
High school diploma or equivalent and excellent computer skills are required.
One year of customer service and/or library work experience preferred.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
