DirtyBirds Cleaning Service is looking to hire a specific type of individual that possess certain qualities and skills that make them an asset to their cleaning team. Individuals who are self-starters, take initiative, ask questions, are willing to learn from mistakes, take feedback well, and can follow directions are quality individuals who would be considered for this role in the company. Individuals should be respectful, professional, trustworthy, hard-working, have good communication skills, and a high level of integrity. Team members are expected to show up on time, ask questions, and communicate any and all issues. This is a LONG TERM PART TIME position to be a cleaner.
In this position, you will be working alone while following a specific set of instructions. Prior to being on your own, your paid training will be taught hands-on and supervised on site until you can demonstrate a proficient understanding of your job tasks. This position demands a high level of trust and responsibility daily, and failure to comply will result in immediate termination.
All job duties will be taught hands-on and supervised by the owners of DirtyBirds in order to develop a professional relationship and mirror the hard work ethic that the company was founded on. The owners enjoy getting their hands dirty and maintaining a team environment for everyone to thrive. You will be given ample time to learn all job duties, ask questions, and form professional relationships within the company to help eliminate any miscommunications from the top down.
You will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene in the facility (or facilities) you are assigned to. You will act as the face of our company wearing the company uniform and maintaining a positive and respectful attitude if/when you interact with our clients. You will be required to follow a cleaning checklist each and every cleaning which will be taught to you hands on so there is no confusion about what is required and expected of you. You will also be required to report low supplies and any/all problems to your supervisor.
Job Details:
This position is Part Time only with hours ranging from 5-20 hours per week. Weekly schedule will depend on the openings we have available. Depending on your availability, you could work as much as Monday-Friday or just one day per week, depending on your availability and our open clients at the time. The job starts at $18/hour with possible raises to $20 based on performance and longevity. Job locations are in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, including but not limited to Palatine, Lake Zurich, Vernon Hills, Arlington Heights, Schaumburg.
What to Expect Next:

Phone interviews will be treated as any other interview. After phone interviews, qualifying individuals will be invited to an in-person trial where final employment decisions will be made.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Perform general cleaning duties, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify supervisor when supplies need to be replenished
- Follow established cleaning procedures and protocols
- Use appropriate cleaning equipment and chemicals for different surfaces
- Adhere to safety guidelines and use personal protective equipment when necessary
- Report any maintenance or repair needs to the supervisor
Requirements:
- Previous experience in custodial or commercial cleaning is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of industrial cleaning techniques and equipment is a plus
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks
- Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy objects if required
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks
