Sunbelt staffing is seeking a compassionate1:1 School Nurse (RN or LPN) to provide specialized care for a student with a Gastrostomy Tube (G-Tube) and Tracheostomy (Trach) near Kirkland, Illinois. As a dedicated School Nurse, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of the student during school hours.
Responsibilities:
- Provide personalized care and support to the student with a G-Tube and Trach during school hours.
- Administer medications, feedings, and respiratory treatments as prescribed by the healthcare team.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for the student, including proper maintenance and care of G-Tube and Trach equipment.
Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Nurse (RN or LPN) license.
- Minimum of 2years of experience working as a School Nurse or in a pediatric healthcare setting.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- Expertise in G-Tube and Trach care, including knowledge of equipment use, maintenance, and emergency interventions.
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations and provide prompt medical assistance as needed.
- Sensitivity to the unique needs of students with medical complexities and the ability to create a nurturing and inclusive environment.
