REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of:

- Completes routine landscaping functions (mowing, trimming, mulching, ball field preparation);
- Follows safety procedures of the equipment and ensure that equipment is operating correctly;
- Operates a variety of equipment to complete Park construction and repair work;
- Loads and transports equipment (mowers, trimmers, chain saws, power, and hand tools) as needed;
- Receives and follows project outlines and instructions;
- Performs minor equipment maintenance;
- Coordinates heavy equipment repairs and maintenance with the Fleet division;
- Performs preventative maintenance on small engine equipment;
- Provides event support by assisting with event setups and breakdowns;
- Hauls and set up tents, tables, chairs and other equipment;
- Collects and removes trash from special event sites;
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or GED; AND
- At least one year of experience operating various light to medium-duty landscaping equipment (mowers, trimmers, chain saws, power and hand tools).
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of:

- Must have a valid driver's license issued by N.C. or another state. (Note: a valid driver's license is a current driver's license that is not revoked, suspended, or subject to limited restoration or conditional operation privileges.)
- Must be able to work nights and weekends to support the activities of the Coastal Plains Baseball team at Guy Smith Stadium and other athletic programs and tournaments as needed.
- This position requires working in all kinds of weather conditions (extreme heat, cold, rain, etc.)
