Join our dynamic team as a temporary (extra-hire) Grant Coordinator and play a crucial role in professional grant program development for the whole Park system. The Parks grant program continues to grow, and this is a critical time to join our team to help manage the administrative needs of our grant cycles. As a key part of the administrative services team, you will be a pivotal hub for responding to grant questions and needs, as well as the day-to-day tracking and management of current and future grants. You will be a vital asset to help assist current staff in ongoing grant coordination and monitoring, and you may be asked to be part of teams assigned with grant research, documenting grant applications, and developing and writing reports as necessary.

How to be Successful in the Role:
Bring in your project management experience and knowledge of continuous quality improvement practices and you will be successful in this role. We are looking for someone with exposure to grant research, grant writing, and grant applications, especially with federal government grants. Lastly, strong oral, and written communication and interpersonal skills are required as well as someone who has the ability to use independent judgment and effective decision-making.
Core Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and assist with managing the implementation of grant programs.
- Serve as a coordinator for Parks grant programs.
- Provide reports and statistics on ongoing grants.
- Team up with operating and capital staff to research, identify, and analyze grant sources.
- Assist with determining grant application priorities.
- Collaborate with other staff on the development of grant applications.
- Facilitate timely communications with grantors and program leadership.
- Prepare and process grant-related documents.
- Present information to grant partners and internal staff.
- Monitor the status of grants through all steps of the grant lifecycle process.
- Maintain contact with state, federal, and local grantor sources and partners.
- Assist project managers and Parks staff with grant questions and information.
- Stay abreast of grant changes, to help inform Parks staff of necessary responsive actions.
- Perform other assigned job functions.
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Two years of grant coordination experience
- Valid Washington State driver's license or ability to meet travel requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in business administration or public administration
